Where it all began

A little while ago, I had the privilege of helping an organisation called Tai Timu Tai Pari with their very first website.

They'd reached out to other providers before contacting me for advice, so what started as a “chat” quickly turned into a project — and ultimately set me on the path I'm on now.

Tai Timu Tai Pari is an amazing organisation doing incredible work in our communities, and it was an absolute pleasure to support them. We built their website together from scratch, and once it was live, I was able to hand it over for them to maintain — just how it should be.

They kindly shared this feedback:

“Blurred Lines was amazing to work with. Nothing was a problem and Ruth made our whole website design and build such an easy process. Professional service, good advice, quick turnaround and we are really happy with the results. I would 100% recommend Blurred Lines to anyone looking for help to develop their website. 5 stars from us.”

This project reminded me that digital support doesn’t need to be complicated or expensive — just thoughtful, clear, and built to empower.

A little bit more about Ruth

I'm Ruth, and Blurred Lines is a bit of a mix of the things I've picked up, fallen into and become slightly obsessed with along the way.

I've spent more than 20 years working in Operations and Business Management, so I understand the less glamorous side of running a business — the admin, systems, spreadsheets, processes and all the things that need to happen behind the scenes to keep everything moving.

Along the way, I've developed a real love for photography, digital design and travel. Somewhere between the two, I found myself helping people who knew they needed a website, better social media or a bit of a digital clean-up, but had no idea where to start.

What started as helping people out has gradually grown into Blurred Lines.

These days I build and refresh websites, create and manage social media, and help businesses with the digital jobs that keep getting pushed further down the list. Sometimes you need someone to start from scratch; sometimes you just need someone to come in and sort out what you've already got.

I'm not here to make things complicated or throw a heap of digital jargon at you. I like making things work, making them look good, and making the whole process a little less painful.

If you've got an idea, a neglected website, a social media account that's been sitting untouched for six months, or simply no idea where to start – that's where I come in.

Let's figure it out.

When I'm not working...

When I'm not buried in websites, spreadsheets or trying to convince social media algorithms to behave, you'll usually find me with my whānau.

We like getting out and about, exploring new places, travelling when we can, eating good food, listening to music and generally making the most of our time together.

I'm also happiest with a camera in my hand, which is probably why travel and photography have slowly become two of my favourite obsessions.
